Electric Vehicles
30% rebate for electric/ hybrid cars
For several years now, the Monegasque State has been implementing aid policies to encourage people to buy clean cars. For the purchase of any electric vehicle by an individual, the Principality awards a subsidy amounting to 30% of the total cost excluding tax (with a ceiling of 9,000 euros). Since 2004, anyone buying a hybrid car has also been entitled to a fixed grant of 3,000 euros. Today, 160 electric vehicles (of a total 30,000 registered) circulate in the streets of Monaco and can « fill up » with electricity at no charge in public car parks.
