The 3rd Monaco Earth Day Swim held on the 22nd April 2009, was a wonderful success.

The event began at sunrise, with the preparations at the Larvotto beach and the starting area at the Port of Fontvieille. Upon registration each athlete received a recycled carrier bag with ecological and health related information. The multi-level athletes then changed into their protective wetsuits and attached a biodegradable balloon to them before jumping into the 15°C waters of Monaco. Two Zodiac boats from Pierre Frolla's Ecole Bleu and the Yacht Club of Monaco provided security along with 5 kayaks and one sculling boat. The Police Maritime boat surveyed the entire course with Monaco Info filming while on board. Once arrived at the beach, the athletes were greeted by over a hundred friends, family and public supporters. A hot breakfast was served at Mona'Show for each athlete and kayaker and an open tombola was held with selected ecological products available. Additionally, an expo was held beside the Rose des Vents which showcased electric and hybrid vehicles, motos, and velos. Various ecological office and domestic products, solar powered toys and publicity items were presented as well. SMEG, Tri-Selective, Green Plus, MC2D, AMAVE and the Foundation of Prince Albert II distributed information and answered questions regarding renewable development in Monaco. Ironman Monaco was also in participation to publicize their ecological initiatives during the next Monaco Ironman being held at the same beach this September.

In all, 47 athletes, 7 kayaks and one rower participated in the 3eme Monaco Earth Day Swim. The future 2010 edition will have a limit of 100 participants in order to maintain water security and keep the ecological theme strong and effective.

MC H2O will continue in its efforts to promote water ecology through practical measures for athletes and the general public alike. In June, an expo presenting the photos of 3rd Monaco Earth Day Swim will be on display during Monacology (TBC). The website will continue to serve as an information point on green initiatives in Monaco and around the world. Different associations and businesses have already requested assistance from MC H2O in achieving their ecological goals. Finding solutions to existing issues and promoting new ideas in Monaco will continue to be the daily work of MC H2O.

Le 3^ème Monaco Earth Day Swim a pu voir le jour le 22 avril 2009 et fut un grand succès. 

L'événement a démarré à l'aube avec les préparations sur la plage du Larvotto suivi du grand départ au Port de Fonvieille. Après inscription chaque participant a reçu un sac 'recyclé' ainsi que des informations relatifs à l'écologie et à la santé. Les athlètes, tous de niveaux différents, munis de leur combinaison en néoprène et d'un ballon biodégradable ont sauté dans l'eau à 15°C. La sécurité a été assurée par deux Zodiacs de l'Ecole Bleu de Pierre Frolla et du Yacht Club de Monaco ainsi que 5 kayaks et d'une coque d'aviron. La Police Maritime monégasque a également assisté accompagné de l'équipe de télévision de MC Info. Une fois arrivés sur la plage les athlètes furent accueillis par plus d'une centaine d'amis, de membres de leur famille et de spectateurs. Le bar/restaurant Mona'Show a permis aux participants de prendre un bon petit déjeuner chaud et bien mérité. Le tirage de la tombola fut également un succès distribuant de nombreux cadeaux visant l'écologie et la santé. Toute la matinée sur l'esplanade du côté de La Rose des Vents il y avait une exposition de véhicules hybrides et électriques (voitures, motos, vélos) ainsi qu'une vente de produits écologiques de bureau et de la maison, notamment des objets solaires. SMEG, Tri-Séléctive, Green Plus (fournisseur de plantes vertes distribuées à tous les participants), MC₂d, AMAVE et la Fondation Prince Albert II ont distribué divers prospectus et ont répondu à des questions concernant le développement durable à Monaco. Ironman Monaco a participé afin d'informer le public sur leurs initiatives écologiques pour le prochain Ironman qui se déroulera en septembre au Larvotto.

En tout 47 nageurs, 7 kayaks et 1 rameur ont participé au 3^ème Monaco Earth Day Swim. La prochaine édition se limitera à 100 participants afin de maintenir la sécurité dans l'eau et de garder le thème écologique de façon soutenu et efficace.

MC H₂0 continu de promouvoir l'écologie de l'eau de façon pratique pour les athlètes et le public. En juin une exposition photographique du 3^ème Earth Day Swim figurera pendant le salon Monacology. Le site web continuera de fournir des informations sur les initiatives écologiques à Monaco et dans le monde. Divers associations ont déjà demandé la participation de MC H₂0 dans la définition de leurs buts écologiques. MC H₂0 continuera de chercher des solutions à des problèmes existantes et de promouvoir de nouvelles idées à Monaco.
